As a man, I’ve never cared for what I call “Foo-foo” decorations, … you know, dried flowers hanging over the doors in the house, … ruffles, … feminine do-dads, ... frilly borders on bed sheets and pillows and such. When I married Gerie this past summer though, my entire life was turned upside down, for she very much enjoys all those feminine do-dads and foo-foos. Because I love her, I’ve had to make many compromises in my home, … and in many ways it was quite tough as I tend to be just a little bit head strong. (No John! Say it isn’t so!) This is my concession on the bed, … a fine warm country style comforter and pillow covers. It has a few flowers in it, but thankfully for the most part it just looks old-school country. No foo-foos or frills. It sure is soft and warm though!
Compromise for someone you love, …
It’s a guy thing.

Do-dads and foo-foos...funny, I had never heard of that expression before, there is always something to learn about other languages...but I think it's an evocative way to call something...even without knowing the words I have perfectly understood what they meant!
By the way we can take advantage of this picture to stress how risky generalizing what is masculine and what is feminine can be :^))
M. cannot stand dried flowers, lace pillows and ruffles, she throws away merrily all small knick-knacks and she adores bare natural wood and very simple pieces of furniture, but you can believe me if I tell you she's totally feminine :^))
Nice bed, warm light, cosy look....this is the most important feature!

Thanks Susanne! I think that's just want the bed needs!

I like how your bed looks masculine because of the posts. I think that it would be really easy to convert to a feminine looking bed if there were more foo foo bed sheets on their. Great to have a bed that can be versatile. Nice job John.

'A little bit headstrong' he says. LOL!!!
But being serious, a good marriage is all about
compromise and I do love you for it.
