With Tropical Storm Jeanne in a lull before the expected higher winds in the afternoon I went up on the Blue Ridge Parkway to photograph the unusually clear mountains which I saw from down below. Up on the parkway it wasn't as clear. Clouds were rolling in and the wind was picking up. Lighting conditions were difficult with an extreme contrast range between the bright sky and dark foliage.
