Have never made this before. All I know about it is that Dinah Shore sang a song about it way back when. Came across the recipe while watching America's Test Kitch on YouTube.

It was supposed to be baked in a 10" ovenproof skillet which I don't have, so I substituted a 12" one and the pastry topping looks a bit skimpy.

Am waiting for it to cool down so we can eat it, topped with vanilla ice cream.
