Trying to capture a hummingbird in focus!
I'm following the advice of a super bird photographer Flickr friend who told me she doesn't try to shoot them until July, when they are used to her, so I'm making sure to wear the same clothing and be out on the deck in the morning's and late afternoons when they coming to the feeder regularly.
The micro43 system is not up to the job - it just can't achieve focus fast enough and manual focus override just is nearly impossible with their constant movement, so I'm using my 7D and Canon 300 f/4L IS lens with manual focus.
This represents the only one in reasonable focus out of sixteen I shot. I didn't like the noise and did a bit of noise reduction with Topaz DeNoise. Would love to have a camera that handles the noise better and satisfies the focus requirements, as well, that doesn't weigh a ton and cost an arm and a leg.
