Set the camera for spot focus and pressed the focus button on top, followed by use of the joystick to get the pistol in focus. I love spot focus on this camera. Terrific for macro. This is a small crop from the original image. I'm thinking I have to turn off the in-camera sharpening, because after resize down I like to sharpen and I just get halos too easily with the camera set for zero sharpening in jpg mode.
