Panasonic DMC LX3

Arrived October 7, 2008. This is going to be my carry around camera now. Fits like a charm in my Tamrac 5691 which I have been using for my Canon A610. (Phew - saved from yet another camera case!) The LX3 is hard to get a secure grip on. I put a wrist strap on it and wrap my ring and pinkie fingers around it. That seems to help, along with the adapter tube I just got from Hong Kong, which I brace my left hand middle finger on...but I won't be able to use the Tamrac 5691 with the adapter tube on - found a nice Case Logic case in Wal-Mart. Check out the pictures of it here. Update: February 10, 2009 - the LX3 is one of my all-time favorite digital cameras. A true standout! My only problem has been difficulty in seeing the lcd in bright light outside. There are 3rd party lcd hoods that help. I have a Kaiser DigiShield and would have bought Gary's excellent Clearviewer (which my husband uses on his ZS3) had I not already purchased the Kaiser hood.(Click on thumbnails to see larger images.) http://www.clearviewer.com

The LX3 is a wonderful tool in your hands Isabel. I have the ZS3 also & I have just ordered a ZS7. If I could justify the outlay Id love one of the LX family. I like this progressive gallery of then and now and how you find using the camera. I use a flip out/detachable screen conver on my ZS3 and it does the job nicely for me.

Superb work and shots. Well done.

I have been enjoying a Leica d-Lux 4 ( same camera as your DMC LX3 )for a couple of months. It is an alternative to my big Nikon DSLR. Great photos but has it's limitations as you know.

Personally, I think Panasonic should pay you for having posted this gallery. It goes a long way to selling the camera for me. I appreciate the notes you posted and the skill of the person behind the camera. Cheers.

I was contemplating between this camera or the Sigma 10-20mm but the extra view on the Sigma won me over. Although I am starting to feel the pain from lugging around the DSLR.

Looking good Isabel ! I'm decided I'm definitely going to upgrade my LX1 but I gather Adobe hasn't released a raw processor for the LX3 yet ?

Thanks for the gallery. Sure looks like a fun camera and you obviously do take it with you. Just the kind of camera and quality I'm looking for as well.

I see you really like the widescreen option. I'll be shooting that way a lot as well, though the camera has a setting that shoots all three aspect ratios at once too.

I especially like low light shooting with no flash. Thanks for the waiter shot. This reassured me that this is the portable camera of the moment that does get this type of job done.
