Knoll'd to church
13 March 2013 (525)

Croome d'Abitot, Worcestershire view map

Spent a chilly, blustery, changeable sort of day with Chris Morton at Croome Park.
Not the most inspiring of places, perhaps; but a template for the 18th-century landscape garden:
which has been described as "Britain's greatest contribution to the visual arts". Discuss.

This is one of the old bell wheels, in the church
(which was inspiring -- inside, anyway...).

Great series of images from your trip out, not sure about the quote from your images or narrative.

"Let gentleness my strong enforcement be" - your image and quotation is a hint towards the efficacy of the firm hand in the velvet glove:)

Nuts! Even given loss of virtually all the elms and late winter being when I suppose oneshould be on the 'Grand Tour'
Doesn't begin to compare with the development of fan vaulting and the timber frame tradition
