There is a matching top to this, the intricate classical mahogany font:
but I couldn't see it.... It was designed by Robert Adam, and was carved
by Sefferin Alken, in 1763, for the princely sum of £11 14s.
The font was stolen -- along with an attractive carved
chair, dated 1631 -- some years ago; but was,
thankfully, recovered.
