I have been trying to capture a perfect shot of one of these guys for quite some time.
Anyone who has tried knows that these are hard ones as flash really throws the tones in this bird's feathers way off.
Their dark top and white underside is a challenge for camera exposure systems.
I wanted to capture a Junco without the use of flash, using only available light.
Today, with my 400mm in hand and the sun shining but just overcast enough to diffuse the sunlight by the right amount, I got my chance.
I hope you like it. :)
