Laura, my daughter (number 26869), makes the turn toward a final hill about a half-mile from the finish line of the Race for the Cure, a 5-kilometer race in Columbus, Ohio. More than 24,000 runners competed in the local race, which raises close to $1 million for local and national breast cancer research and programs. The Columbus run is part of a series of runs that last year involved more than a million runners and collected $136 million for local and national breast cancer research and programs.
