Porthole and rope

New York, NY view map

A porthole and rope break the blanket of red formed by the hull of the Lightship Ambrose. The Ambrose, built in 1907 and moored at the South Street Seaport Museum in New York City, was a “floating lighthouse” to guide ships safely from the Atlantic Ocean into lower New York Bay. Additional photos from New York City are in my Cities gallery.
