This happened in an instant and was actually taken from inside our car (so with no preparation :-)). One minute the goats were congregating on the side of the road, the goatherd was watching and we started to drive past, then he looked away and the leader decided to cross the road without him. Needless to say, we stopped and watched until they were all safely across.
