Some things change, while others remain the same

Hanging from the ceiling of the Saddle restaurant is a 600kg metal sculpture of four horses created by an artist in Abu Dhabi, where Saddle’s first restaurant opened. There were no restaurants like this when we lived on the Diplomatic Quarter, but the women all dressed the same, in a black abaya and hijab (head covering). There are a few women without a headscarf, who I imagine must be foreigners.

I guess there are steps in the right direction. It is interesting to see the various head coverings. V

The restaurant is lovely but the customer attire is rather boring, I guess.

For all its sculpture and plants, to me this looks sterile and uninviting.
