Surprise bird

Just as we were leaving Constitution Gardens, we saw this bird off in the distance. I think it’s a green heron (but please correct me if I’m wrong!), something we’ve never seen there before.

It is a green heron. It is a proud looking bird. Great reflection and soft light. V

Nice shot of this visitor. Yep it's a green heron, but the name sometimes is hard to fit with the way it looks. I think it came from the way the feathers light up greenish in the sunlight.

We had someone bring one of these into the the vet's office years ago. I'll never forget it, the woman's face all bloody from being pecked with that long beak as she tried to rescue it. We sent it along to a wild life rescue place. A wonderful find by you. V
