Lost duckling

This poor little guy was frantically swimming all over the place for as long as we were there. He must have gotten separated from his family, which I think was on the other side of an island in the lake.

So hard to see this kind of thing in nature. The good thing is that ducklings are very hardy and able to feed themselves. Parents don't keep a close eye on them like Canada geese do with their youngsters.
