Pepco substation gets a final mural

Pepco, DC’s electricity provider, really seems to be into public art. Last year I photographed another huge substation entirely covered in murals, and now this one in Eckington has followed suit. Below are the other sides of the building; seems like I checked once, and the fourth wall wouldn’t support a mural.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly unsharp.

Lights out on Venice, posted earlier:

It looks definitely different from the Pepcos (food stores) we have here in Szombathely... V

I like the graphic design in this case and the bright colors.

This one isn't up to the usual DC standard, in my opinion. Some graffiti artists are more creative than this. But still better than a grey wall!

I can appreciate abstract art, but I still prefer the previous mural.

The company’s investment in public art is great and a bonus for the neighbourhood.

That’s great and what a wonderful way to bring color and art to an area. I like your composition here too. The fence and the tree limb really draw your eyes to the mural. V

Very bold graphics, colourful and eye-catching,. They certainly brighten up an otherwise boring building! You got an excellent shot of this side. V
