The acrobat

The other evening when I was out photographing birds on our block, I came across this squirrel who was hogging the bird feeder. There were several sparrows waiting in line, and he managed to get rid of a grackle who had been feeding. He ignored me but finally left when some person walked by.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly
unsharp.

That big dude will make short work of that feeder.

Ugh, this is a constant battle with me chasing them away. If they eat off the ground, fine, but it's too expensive to let them gorge on the feeders!

This acrobat sure gets around. Looks just like our bird feeder bandit. Great timing, framing, detail and pose. Squirrels have to eat also. VV++

They are the seed and suet bandits, and you photo surely show that.
It is good to tie the suet cages so the bandit cannot pry it open.
Nice sharp shot Helen nice work with your 300..

It's working hard for that food.

Industrious and clever, it's almost impossible to keep them from robbing the bird feeders.

I doubt you could put the feeder out of its reach no matter how hard you tried.

They can be very determined once they have found a food source. V

This looks familiar!! We have a lineup of squirrels who all try to hog the suet feeder. Such a great shot, and it gave me a big chuckle too. V

We have squirrels raiding our bird feeders too. We also put out a few of the pepper laced food blocks, which only the birds can eat, so the squirrels don't get everything!
