Ugly lights at the FBI

We went out on Sunday to try to find lights that I hadn’t photographed when I made this gallery in 2006-2010, but in all honesty, we covered the city pretty well at that time.

The FBI building was one that I never photographed, maybe because the lights were ugly. But even I didn’t dare walk up to it to take pictures yesterday, so caught this as we drove by.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly
unsharp.

Flower pots on defense duty.

I would stay away too. The flower pots are very utilitarian too. The caution cone fits right in. V

The lights need a coat of paint. I think that would help immensely. Nice drive by shot, Helen. V

The disposition of the flower boxes makes difficult a "car arrack" on the building...V.

You're right, Helen.They are really ugly... V

I guess "Business Appointments" are out with that red cone blocking the door. !! Amazing you got such a good shot from a drive by !! V

I'm sure J. Edgar would approve of those lights.

I find it strange that photographers are looked on with suspicion when it comes to public buildings. I just checked Google and you can get a 360 view of this building. Both night and day shots.

"Paranoia runs deep", so the song goes.

The area in front of the building is nicely decorated. The red cone in the doorway sends a message. V

I took some from the corner entrance a few years ago. Interesting building.

I like the warm tones ~V~

Ok the lights might not be the most attractive I've ever seen, but they do contribute nicely to the assortment of vertical lines in the frame.

A very nice FBI building photograph I am in your camp with those lights maybe they will see this and upgrade.
I do like the planting they are done nicely.

Even a drive-by photo might be risky. They have planted lots of flowers to soften the building though.

Your right not very attractive.

not wise to get too close to get some pictures of those buildings.V.

I'm sure that if one was to walk around federal buildings and take photos of the doors and entries... it would make a lot of people nervous and be open to questions! Not a good idea!
