Created in 2014 by Aneikan Udofia, who also painted the famous Black Americans mural at Ben’s Chili Bowl and “Gagged Washington,” both posted earlier in this gallery, this mural replaces another one of Marvin Gaye that was covered up by construction. The artist feels that with this mural Gaye has been reborn and said, “I added more soul to it.”
Udofia was born in Washington, D.C., grew up in Nigeria and returned here for good.
Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly
unsharp.
