The ghost park

Lincoln Park is almost deserted these days due to a continuous police and National Guard presence. People still cut through the park to get home, and some walk their dogs there, but nobody is congregating in large (or even small) groups. It’s interesting because it’s a national park, usually monitored by NPS park police, but the DC Metropolitan Police have obviously taken over jurisdiction.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

It looks quite gloomy, in spite of the noce weather. You captured a scene which conveys the mood of this hard period

So sad to see it so empty. Our parks are closed and the police actually gave a ticket to a dad who happened to be walking on the grass adjacent to the sidewalk. He wasn't even in the park. :-(

We are being faced with all our own interiority (for whatever unknown reason...). I'm changing the term 'lockdown' to 'residential retreat'...

So very strange to see these empty parks & streets. I agree with Tom, I'll also be glad when this is over! V
