This is part of a series of shots of these two mallards, whose “romantic interlude” I witnessed. I didn’t at the time know what to expect, but they stopped bobbing their heads up and down for a second to pose for a portrait.

We thought we’d see what Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens in Washington, D.C., was like in winter. Naturally all the lotuses and water lilies were gone, but we did find some birds during our walk around the extensive grounds.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.
