We stopped by Constitution Gardens to check on my friend the heron, and he was still there, which means he must be finding enough to eat. He was awfully far away and wasn’t doing much except trying to snooze, but the ducks kept waking him up.

I must congratulate the National Park Service for clearing the lake of all that horrible algae that had developed after they refilled it. It looks a thousand times better than the last time we were there.
