The Great Egret encounter: Fluffed

These two Great Egrets left the others in the marsh and flew closer to us, which was sure helpful for picture taking! This will be a series of what we observed, interspersed with other photos.

*****

I had planned to end this gallery, but we went back to the 700-acre Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens in Washington, D.C., to take another stab at photographing one of the resident herons. Along the way to the marsh we saw lots of other things, including more lotuses, water lilies and dragonflies.

Nice shot of this duo. I may be mistaken, but the one on the right looks like a juvenile.
