Redeye

A group of coots in one area looked pretty plain from a distance, but close up I thought they were quite striking.

Thanks to Jim Coffman for the ID. I thought they were ducks ;-).

Taken at Huntley Meadows Park in Fairfax County, Virginia, a marvelous wetland, meadowland and forest area about a half hour outside Washington, D.C.
