Trident maple

We took a quick trip out to the National Arboretum during Thanksgiving week to see if there were any fall colors there since we haven’t had much in our neighborhood. We didn’t find a whole lot, but it was pleasant walking around the near empty grounds on a crisp autumn afternoon.

I can’t tell which sign I photographed goes with this tree, but I think it’s a trident maple.

the leaves certainly look like maple, as do the autumn colours...these stunted plants can be attractive..
