This bracelet of zircon, diamonds and platinum was designed by Joel Helft of Paris in 1939. After the stock market crash of 1929, jewelers started working with hitherto unthinkable semi-precious stones. Ms. Post also locked away her jewelry after the crash and with the money saved on insurance for it, financed a canteen in New York that fed thousands of women and children.
