National Building Museum

We attended the annual Smithsonian Craft Show over the weekend, held in the National Building Museum, built in 1887 and which used to be known as the Pension Building after the Civil War. It is now a museum on architecture and also hosts an inaugural ball every four years. I couldn’t afford much at the craft show, unfortunately. With things like goblets I liked costing $6,400 each, I concluded it was mainly for rich Washingtonians.

An impressive shot of this grand building. Isn't it funny how 'crafts' have gone really upmarket, a long way from the days of hobby activities.
