Well, I couldn’t resist and in fact did go back yet again to the “orchids: A MOMENT” exhibit at the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. It’s a good thing I did – there were some very exotic new orchids on display. Something I learned was that the Smithsonian Garden has over 8,000 species of orchids in its collection, although I don’t think they’ll all be exhibited here (or this gallery will never end ;-)).
These fascinating orchids were high above my head and in a very difficult-to-photograph corner that didn’t have much light. After many tries, this was the best I could manage. I should bring a ladder with me to the museum!
