'Rope' of blossoms

We went back to the US Botanic Garden, situated on the National Mall, for a quick look around now that the Christmas exhibit is over.

No idea what this is, but I thought it was very interesting looking. This rope was hanging down quite low to the ground so was a bit difficult to capture.
