I apologize for posting almost the same shot twice (but taken at a different place, at least!), but this was too good to pass up. Last night I posted a picture of the US Capitol with some of the countless portable toilets on the capitol grounds in view. They were very clearly marked “Gene’s Johns,” the name of the company supplying them for the inauguration. But tonight CNN reported (along with many others) that the name of another supplier of these portable potties, “Don’s Johns,” is being covered up with blue tape. It’s pretty clear why the organizers of President-elect Donald J. Trump’s inauguration would be unhappy about that name plastered on toilets all over the place. The Architect of the Capitol, however, came out with a statement saying that the signage was being taped over to comply with restrictions on advertising on the Capitol grounds. Interesting that when we were there, "Don’s Johns” was covered up, but "Gene’s Johns” was not…
