Says Tan: “This image displays a sea of clouds below the early morning of the mountain, and smoke escaping from the crater. The two elements of mist become one, creating a beautifully mysterious landscape.”

This will be the last picture in this gallery, at least for now. Thanks again for all the interest in it! I’m pleased I had the opportunity to share these photographs, which I found incredibly inspiring, with those who won’t have a chance to visit the exhibit (which runs until September 2017, in case you do get to Washington).
