'Lava Abstract,' by Bruce Omori

“Lava Abstract,” East Rift Zone, Kilauea, Hawaii, USA, by Bruce Omori, Hilo, Hawaii, USA. This image was “Highly Honored” in the Landscapes category.

Says Omori: “Circling high above, the patterns and abstract formations caught my eye, so we hovered directly above the flow. Leaning out and shooting straight down onto this scene was a breathtaking vantage point to witness this dynamic activity, and feel its stifling heat.”

This is stunning. Definitely a fabulous abstract. Thanks for always including the information about each photo; for this one, I would have not known what it was otherwise. Lovely work on your part too. V
