On the day before we left Riyadh for good, we were provided with a driver to take us wherever we wanted to go. One place was the National Museum of Saudi Arabia for a final visit.
There was an outstanding exhibit on the Hajj, the pilgrimage to Makkah required of all Muslims once in their lifetime if they are able to do it. This elaborate cloth, as I understand it, used to be a covering in the Kaaba, a black cube-like building considered the “House of Allah” in Islam’s most sacred mosque, Al-Masjid al-Haram, in Makkah.
