The National Museum of Saudi Arabia was established in 1999 and is part of the King Abdul Aziz Historical Centre in Riyadh. It is quite nicely done, with exhibits on mankind in general and Saudi Arabia in particular on the ground floor and exhibits highlighting the country's Islamic heritage on the first floor. Photography is allowed, so I brought my D800 -- such a nice change to use here! The museum is a major leisure time activity in Riyadh and much more interesting than the countless shopping malls one finds everywhere. I didn't take a lot of pictures there, but enough to group in a small sub-gallery. This place also merits more visits as there was just too much to take in at once.
