My friend Fatih, visiting from Turkey, and I went to the Library of Congress, a stunning building that is often overlooked by tourists here (like who needs to go to a library in a strange city).

This is the skylight over the main hall and staircases leading to the reading room.

I’ll catch up as I can with Pbase today. I suddenly find myself working again after my newspaper was shut down by the Turkish government at the end of July, so haven’t quite figured out a new routine yet, but it’s a relief in any case!
