My friend Fatih, visiting from Turkey, and I went to the Library of Congress, a stunning building that is often overlooked by tourists here (like who needs to go to a library in a strange city).

This is the main reading room, which is topped by a spectacular dome. Unfortunately you can only view it from behind glass nowadays, and the reflections of the sun were just impossible. I need to go back at a different time of day for a picture.
