Near Essaouira, the goats in the tree

I honestly don’t know what the story is with the goats in the tree – do the goatherds always put them in there to make some money off of tourists, or do the goats climb it on their own to eat the leaves? Whichever, they seemed pretty content dining high above the ground, and it made for a most unusual picture.

I expect they just go up; most browsing animals including cows much prefer trees (or one's favourite shrubs!) to grass and goats are also know as good climbers

That's hilarious. I've seen mountain goats going about on cliff faces that seem to have no foot hold for them, so I suppose climbing a tree is something akin to mountain climbing... seems unnatural. I've never seen it before. V
