We drove all around Palm Jumeirah, a manmade island in the shape of a palm tree in the Gulf, but the roads to any of the palm fronds were blocked, so we really only saw buildings from the main road through the island. From quite a distance, though, I was able to see this structure and couldn’t imagine what in the world it could be. We later found out it was the Atlantis – The Palm, resort, pictured from the other side below. Sort of a silly picture, but it does give an idea as to the enormous size of the hotel.
