Al Sabaa Garden

This Al Sabaa Garden, situated way out on the edge of the DQ and ingeniously fit into a narrow but irregular piece of land overlooking the wadi. I thought it was charming and very nicely done, and I would bet that not a single person I know here even is aware of its existence. It was terraced and full of what I think was aloe, and just a very pleasant place to visit.

The park is actually built in a horseshoe shape along a bend in the wadi, with the barbed wire marking the boundary of the DQ. This image shows the far right-hand side of the grounds, which is some kind of odd “amphitheater” area, although I doubt it’s actually used for that purpose.

Below is the left-hand end of the garden:

It almost looks like old ruins. It is amazing what can be built in the desert.

Amazing that they could create a park from such an environment - could it be that water runs over the amphitheater when it rains ? V

It would be interesting to know why it was built and what it was used for. V

If you see this rocky plain, you could not image that there is such a lovely garden.
