Just taking a momentary break from my Asir gallery. I saw this dragonfly in the garden earlier today, and it didn’t seem to want to move out of my way when I was trying to turn off some exterior lights, so I finally got my camera. I think I can count the number of times I’ve photographed an insect on the fingers of one hand, but I actually find these to be quite beautiful. There was an enormous beetle struggling on its back today, on my front steps. The gardener said it bored into palm trees and destroyed them. Needless to say, I didn’t photograph that one as I didn’t want to get any closer to it than I already was. Image is significantly cropped.
