2008 Polar Bear Plunge ~ January 26

Green Lake, Spicer, Minnesota

"Freezin' for a Reason." The annual Polar Bear Plunge on Green Lake raises tens of thousands of dollars for Special Olympics every year. Numerous teams from local businesses and organizations make the plunge--this year just shy of 200 people were brave enough to make the plunge.

The weather was perfect. The air temperature was a balmy 32F (0C) while the water temperature was recorded at 33F (.5C).

Man..Sometimes I have to dive in a pool in december to fix it. I have a full wetsuit on and I am still freezing. This is insane. Great timing.
