A healthy looking Buck, mid-summer, 2012, displaying his new velvet-covered antlers. The Buck is still often seen to be licking the location of the exit wound as per top image.

In the bottom image, the alert Buck is laying down in the grass. The location of the entrance wound can still be seen by the white line in his summer coat, just below the spine. Note, how much thinner the neck is, compared to images of him taken during the fall rutting season. Click "previous" to see him with a large neck and in his darker and coarser Fall coat.

Next posting to be of The Boss seemingly bonding with a young Buckie, possibly his son.

Good series, Hank! Is he still around?

Must have been one heck of a wound (well we know it was) to still have him nursing it 18 months later. So happy that he survived! :)

He really is magnificent, and so are your images. I guess the wound must still have been irritating him even 18 months later.

It's wonderful to think he has survived this terrible incident and self treated his wounds to become this picture of a strong and healthy buck. Thanks for the informed progress over the past 18 months Hank. Look forward to following this fantastic series. V
