Blue Jay

Bloomington, MN

Working on some in-shell peanuts. It took the jays a while to warm up to this feeder but they seem to like it. There is a squirrel baffle on this pole, otherwise I think the squirrels would eat right through the wood in one bite. It's fun to watch the blue jays who spend quite a bit of time working those peanuts. I'm always cheering for them to get one. I was about 12 feet away from this bird so I had to tilt the camera in order to fit the whole thing in.
