This felt much better when I was taking it. I don't think it's all that bad.
Here is an example of wishing I'd remembered to pack my 580EX2, it could have used a bit of fill.
I actually rotated it to add a little something to it during PP (in Lightroom).

Oh yeah, it was about 8 degrees (Farenheit) when I took this, rather cold out there.
Yeap, another shot with the 28mm off the end of my camera.
