1961 Ford Consul Lowline

Haynes International Motor Museum, Sparkford, Yeovil, Somerset

HAYNES DESCRIPTION:

Restyled and enlarged Ford Consul's appeared during February 1956 and were imminently seen to bear a strong visual similarity to that of the contemporary America Ford.
There continued to be further styling changes of Consul, Zephyr and Zodiac which included a lower roof line stainless steel surrounds to the windscreen and rear window capping, chrome headlamp bezels, restyled rear lamp clusters and modified fascia layout.
The new over square 1703cc engine provided good performance and economy.

Great little car. I don't recognize the style but I was interested in horses in that era.

The headlight bezels are the only parts that remind me of an American Ford from this period. This is a great, clear, detailed shot. V
