Great Gray Owl flying with mouse in beak

Ottawa, Ontario. Canada

This little passenger gets to ride up front with the pilot.

This was the first catch of two for this Great Gray owl in a span of 15 minutes. He took the rodent back to a wooden perch to consume it.

Thanks Tammie. There were several photographers and birders watching the owls. After they had all left I decided to stick around for a bit longer. My perseverance paid off as the one owl proceeded to catch and eat two voles in the span of 15 minutes. It did all this not far from where I was standing so I had front row seats to this spectacle...and took some pictures to preserve the moment :)
