Bisti Badlands, New Mexico

grit in the form of sand particles adds an edge to the wind here, so a determined spirit is needed to explore the area...that grit-laden wind has sculpted the rocks too, along with rain and the freeze/thaw cycle that affects the area..at Bisti there are no trails or signs either, so you have to follow your instincts to find the hoodoos and bizarre rock formations...it's well worth the effort in the end though
