clinkers

Bisti Badlands, New Mexico

fired clay in the wild, looking like pottery shards, yet more naturally formed, albeit here in a footprint shape...clinkers are named for the wind-chime sound the clay chips make while banging about the badlands

Nikon D7000
Nikkor 18-200mm - 1/320s f/11.0 at 75.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium large auto

Super close-up, David. Nice find and capture. This looks to be the remnant of a cracked egg, and the story of the clinkers is a real treat.
