mismatch

Bluff, Utah

on the road one must adapt to local cuisine...this night I surveyed the menu, deciding against steak, ribs, chops, and chicken, and opting for Atlantic Salmon instead...that sounded healthy and nutritious...what a surprise then when the salmon arrived, with roast potatoes....and baked beans!...it seemed whatever you ordered here, those were the inevitable two veggies...if only Boris Keller had been there too...his reaction would have been memorable to this culinary mismatch

I love everything on the plate, but baked beans just doesn't seem to go with salmon, a neat photo, anyway!

Beans, beans and more beans, and a side order of hash browns. Oh dear!

In some areas this is called a combination plate. The salmon sure looks delicious. ~V

This must be a case of only having two side dishes on hand. I experienced a lot of that in England with Chips and Peas.

An interesting combination and nicely presented on the blue dish. A lovely curve to the lemon.

The salmon looks good. I could cope with the roast spuds but not the beans!

Atlantic Salmon, your a long way from the Atlantic! I can life with the combination but you broke one of my rules - not to eat fish which has travelled over 200 miles from the sea!!

Wow, I wonder what you get with peanut butter and jelly? :))

You could probably live on it ........for a while.

It looks good to me. I have pedestrian taste. :) Great food photo even if you found it odd. They even had a garnish for the fish.

Strange combination, still I guess it did the job.

There are chefs, there are cooks, there are jack's of all trades, masters of none. I think this was prepared by the latter.

I forgot my Schnitzel at the stove for tonights dinner, because I was laughing so hard about this picture. It got burned! Poor boy, this is though to look at. Wow.. Fish and three, reminds me of Nashville! Vote for your Adventures!

Yes, you always seemed to be the odd man out with your menu choices.
The one thing you failed to mention is that this plate was much more reasonably
filled than what the rest of us had --- especially on that first evening.
The Cottonwood Steakhouse was another great find in Bluff.

How interesting -- they even look very mismatched on the plate, especially the beans!
