expensive dreams

it’s the dream of most Canadians to own their own house in a quiet residential neighbourhood...unfortunately pursuing that expensive dream has meant record levels of personal debt...buying a house is a big financial commitment, nowhere moreso than in Vancouver, with the highest house prices in the country

It looks nice quiet place.. prices exploded here too in the past years. Now in the crisis they are not going down a lot, in spite of the inability of people to pay it anymore.. curious situation here.

Lovely house all the same - it reminds me very much of some of the affluent Edinburgh suburbs of my youth...

Not forgetting taxes, maintenance costs on top of monthly interest payment, etc..
Lovely composition with the trees nicely framing this beautiful home....V

Owning a home should be a right of passage, not just a dream...perhaps if the corporate bosses weren't paid such mega bucks the wealth would be more even...there I go, believing in fairytales...again!!

It's a lovely home, it must be someones pride and joy!!

Yeah, it can be quite expensive. I love the home. Has a lot of character. I bought mine about 6 years ago and got it for a great price. Now, my mortgage payments are less than any apartment I could find to live in so happy I have it.

I am afraid this is going to remain a dream for more and more people here as well. Despite the free fall of the housing market prices remain very high here as it is considered a desirable place to live. Nicely shot with the framing trees and shadows. "V"

Sadly it's the same story in Ireland, where there is a huge level of personal debt and many people are experiencing difficulty in keeping up their mortgage
repayments.
But this looks a wonderfully tempting dream house in a manicured setting. V
